About us

What is CBS Property?

We like to think that CBS Property is unique. As a landowner and developer, we own some 10,000,000 m2 of property. Most of these sites are in strategic locations in and around the Hungarian capital, Budapest. Some sites are currently for sale and many are being readied for future development; some, however, will be retained as the company’s land-bank. Those sites that have been selected for development will be developed by ourselves or with joint-venture partners to accommodate a variety of end uses including logistics, residential, leisure and mixed-use projects.

Our background

In November 2008 The Chayton Sava Property Fund, part of Chayton Capital, acquired a 74% stake in the Hungarian company Skoglund Holding Zrt in partnership with global investment firm C V Starr. Skoglund was previously owned entirely by investment firm Bankár. In September 2009, the company rebranded to CBS Property taking the letters CBS from the names of its three shareholders. The acquisition and subsequent rebranding sees CBS Property change from a landowner to become a pro-active development company open to opportunities for joint-venture partnerships with other major developers.

What do we do?

By working with both local authorities and the City of Budapest, we aim to secure planning permissions for durable projects that add value to our portfolio and contribute to the positive growth of Budapest. As and when permissions are awarded, we evaluate whether to sell sites to investors, to develop them ourselves or to develop them in partnership with major local or international developers.
